Thisstandardspecifiesthetechnicalrequirementsforthelateralandrearunderrunprotectiondevicesofmotorvehiclesandtrailers,andthetechnicalrequirementsforsuchvehicles.
ThisstandardappliestothevehiclesofcategoriesN2,N3,O3andO4.
Thisstandarddoesn’tapplytosemi-trailertowingvehicles,orthevehiclesdesignedandconstructedforspecialpurposeswhereitisnotpossible,forpracticalreasons,tofitsuchlateralandrearunderrunprotectiondevices.Therearunderrunprotectionrequirementsdon’tapplytothevehiclesspeciallydesignedandconstructedforthecarriageofverylongloadsofindivisiblelength,suchasthevehiclesfortransportationoftimberorothergoods;

3 TERMSANDDEFINITIONS
Forthepurposeofthisstandard,thefollowingtermsanddefinitionsandthosegiveninGB/T.2andGB/Tapply.
3.1
未受保护的道路使用者unprotectedroadusers
在使用道路时可能跌入车辆侧面而被卷入车轮下的行人、骑自行车或骑摩托车的人。
3.2
侧面防护装置lateralprotectiondevice
由纵向部件和连接结构件组成，并且固定在底盘的侧面部件上或车辆其他结构件上的装置，用于避免未受保护的道路使用者跌入车辆侧面而被卷入车轮下；车辆的某些部分可以被用作侧面防护装置。
3.3
后下部防护装置rearunderrunprotectiondevice
由横向构件和连接结构件组成，并且固定：在底盘部件上或车辆其他结构件上的装置。
3.4
后下部防护rearunderrunprotection
后下部防护指专门的后下部防护装置或者依靠自身的外形与特性能够具有全部或部分后下部防护装置功能的车辆的车体、车架部件或其他部件。
4侧面防护装置的技术要求
4.1侧面防护装置应按照附录A中A.l所规定的试验条件进行测量。侧面防护装置的外表丽应光滑，并尽可能前后连续；相邻部件允许搭接，但搭接的外露边缘应向后或向下；相邻部件应沿纵向留出不大于25mm的间隙，但后都不能超出前部的外侧。螺栓和铆钉的圆头允许凸出外表面不大于10mm，其他零件只要其光滑并有类似的圆头结构，也可凸出外表面不大于10mm。由直径mm的球体接触到的外露的棱边和棱角应倒圆，其固｜角半径应不小于2.5mm；凸出小于5rnrn的部件，其朝外表面边缘应钝化。
